Half of local search happens on the map
Search your own trade and city from your phone. Before any website appears, Google shows three businesses on a map, with stars, photos, hours and a call button. Most people never scroll past those three. If you are not there, or you are there with two photos and no reviews, the search ends without you.
That block is built from Google Business Profiles. The profile is free, and that is exactly why most of them are neglected: nobody paid for it, so nobody owns it. It sits half filled with the wrong category, an old phone number and a review from 2022 nobody answered.
This service exists to fix that, once and properly, and to keep it fixed if you want.
Two ways in
Creation, from $297 one time. For a business with no profile, or one that exists but nobody controls. I create it in your Google account, take it through verification (video, postcard or phone, whichever Google offers your business), and set up every section from the categories down to the booking link.
Optimization, from $197 one time. For a profile you already own. I audit every field against what your best customers actually search, fix the primary and secondary categories, rewrite the description, load a real photo set, set services with descriptions, correct hours and service area, turn on messaging and booking where they make sense, and answer every review that is still waiting.
Both leave you with a profile that says exactly what your website says. That match, name, phone, address or service area and hours identical everywhere, is one of the strongest local signals there is, and it is the one most businesses get wrong without knowing.
What the work actually includes
- Primary category chosen against the searches you want, secondary categories for the rest of what you do
- A description written in your voice, with the services and the area a customer would type
- Services and products listed one by one, each with a short description
- Hours, holiday hours and service area set correctly
- Real photos of your work, your team and your space, organized and named, never stock
- Attributes that apply to you: languages spoken, payment methods, accessibility, women or veteran owned if it is true
- Booking, messaging and quote buttons connected to where you actually answer
- Every open review answered, and a simple review link you can send to customers from your phone
- Questions and answers seeded with the questions your front desk hears most
- A UTM tagged website link so your analytics show which calls and visits came from the profile
Keep it alive, from $149 a month
A profile that stops moving fades. Google favors listings that post, add photos, answer reviews and keep hours current, and it quietly demotes the ones that go silent. Monthly care covers a weekly post, new photos as your work produces them, every review answered within two business days, hours updated before holidays, questions answered, and a short monthly note on calls, direction requests and website clicks from the profile.
When the business is already on a website maintenance plan with me, the two are quoted together and the profile care comes in lower, because the site and the profile are one job: what changes in one has to change in the other the same day.
Where it fits with the website
The profile gets you found. The website gets you chosen. A visitor who taps your website from the map decides in a few seconds whether to call, and a slow or confusing page throws away the click the profile just earned. That is why this service pairs with web design and local SEO, and why the free website scan is a good first step if you already have a site and want to know whether it is holding you back.
Who this is for
Businesses people find by searching a trade and a place: contractors, welders, painters, auto shops, barbershops, restaurants, clinics, insurance and tax offices, anyone who serves a city or an area. I work from Tampa with businesses across Florida, in English and Spanish, and the profile itself can be written in one language or both.
Pricing
Creation from $297 one time. Optimization of an existing profile from $197 one time. Monthly care from $149 a month, lower when bundled with a website plan. What moves the number is how many locations you have, whether the profile needs a rescue (suspended, duplicated or owned by a former employee), how many reviews are waiting for an answer, and whether the work is in one language or two. The final price is in writing before anything starts, and you own the profile from the first day.
If your business is not on the map, or it is there and not doing anything for you, let's fix that.
Common questions
How much does Google Business Profile setup cost?
Creating a profile from zero, getting it verified and setting up every section starts at $297, one time. Optimizing a profile that already exists starts at $197. If you want it kept alive after that, with weekly posts, new photos, answered reviews and a monthly read of what is working, monthly care starts at $149 a month, and it is quoted lower when the business is already on a website plan with me. Every number lands in writing before any work starts.
Is the profile itself free?
Yes. Google does not charge for the listing, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. What you pay for here is the work: choosing the categories that match the searches you want, writing the description, loading real photos, setting services, hours and service area correctly, and getting through verification, which is the step where most owners get stuck.
I already have a profile. Why would I need optimization?
Most profiles were set up in ten minutes years ago and never touched again. The primary category is wrong or too broad, half the sections are empty, the photos are three years old, the hours are wrong on holidays and nobody answered the last six reviews. Each of those is a signal Google reads. Optimization fixes all of them in one pass and leaves you with a profile that is complete, accurate and consistent with your website.
Can you guarantee I show up in the top three on the map?
No, and nobody honest can. Google decides the map pack on relevance, distance and prominence, and distance alone rules out guarantees. What I can do is make sure nothing on your side is holding you back: the right categories, a complete profile, real reviews with real answers, and a website that says the same thing the profile says. That is what moves a local business up over time.
Do you need access to my Google account?
You keep ownership. The profile is registered to your Google account, never to mine, and I work as a manager you add and can remove any day. If you do not have a Google account for the business yet, we create one together in your name during the first call.
