Website audit
An honest review of your website, and a plan to fix it
Someone has to tell you honestly what is wrong with your site and how to fix it. That is exactly what this audit does: a full review of your current website, with a plain-language report and an action plan ordered by impact.
- What is wrong, with screenshots and measurements
- Comparison against two competitors in your area
- Why each issue matters, in plain language
- What to fix first, ordered by impact and effort
The six things I review
How you get found
Titles, structure, the words your customers use, and whether your Google listing matches the site.
How it loads
Real speed on a phone with an ordinary signal, and the metrics Google uses to rank you.
How it converts
Whether a visitor finds the phone in one second and a clear path to call on every page.
How it looks and works
Design, hierarchy, readability, and what it signals next to competitors in your area.
Whether it complies
Accessibility, basic security, and for practices, whether forms ask for what they should not.
What it says
Hours, services, team, insurance. Everything outdated that tells visitors nobody is in charge.
How it works
- 01
You request it
Two minutes with the form below. Your site address is the only thing that really matters.
- 02
We confirm
I write within one business day to confirm scope and payment.
- 03
I review
Five business days of real testing, on real devices, against real competitors.
- 04
We go through it
You get the report and a 30-minute call to answer every question.
Who it is for
The practice or business that already has a website and suspects it is not pulling its weight. It looks more or less fine, but the phone does not ring from the internet, it does not show up on Google, or simply nobody has ever checked whether it is doing its job.
Many medical and local business websites are in poor shape and their owners do not know it, because nobody has told them plainly. Whoever built it is gone, and whoever maintains it bills without explaining anything. This audit breaks that silence.
It is also the cheapest way to find out whether you need a full rebuild or three small fixes somebody can make this week. Spending $197 to avoid a wrong four figure decision is the point. The report tells you which of the two you are looking at, and it is written to be useful either way, including to whoever currently looks after the site.
What I review
How you get found. Whether Google understands what you are, where you are and who you serve. Titles, descriptions, structure, the words your customers use that your site never says. Your Google Business Profile and whether it matches the site.
How it loads. Real speed on a phone with an ordinary signal, not on an office computer. Image weight, third-party components that drag, and the metrics Google uses to decide your position.
How it converts. Whether a visitor finds the phone number in one second, understands what you do on the first screen, whether the form helps or scares, and whether every page has a clear path to call or write.
How it looks and works. Design, hierarchy, readability, consistency with your brand, and what it signals next to the competition in your area.
Whether it complies. Accessibility against the standard used in the United States, basic security, and for practices, whether the forms ask for anything they should not.
What it says and whether it is true. Hours, services, team, insurance. Everything outdated that tells a visitor nobody is in charge.
How it runs
- You send the request. Two minutes, and your site address is the only thing that really matters.
- I reply within one business day to confirm scope and payment.
- Five business days of real testing, on real devices, against two real competitors in your area.
- You get the report, and a 30 minute call to go through it together.
What I need from you is small: the site address, what kind of business it is, and one sentence about what worries you most. Analytics access helps if you have it and is not required, since most of what matters is visible from the outside, exactly the way a customer sees it.
What you get
A plain-language report, in the language you prefer, in three parts:
- What is wrong, with evidence: screenshots, measurements and a comparison against two competitors in your area.
- Why it matters, explained for a business owner, not a programmer.
- What to fix first, ordered by impact and effort, so you know exactly where to start even if you decide to do it with someone else.
Plus a 30-minute call to go through it together and answer your questions.
The ordering is the part owners tell me they value most. Any tool can produce a list of ninety problems. Knowing which three actually cost you customers this month, and which eighty seven can wait forever, is what turns a list into a decision.
What the audit is not
It is not a sales pitch in disguise. If your site is fine, the report says so. If three small changes are enough, the report says so. And if a rebuild is the right call, I tell you why, with data, and the decision is yours.
It is not a promise of Google positions either. It is an honest diagnosis and a plan. What you do with it, and with whom, is your call.
It is also not an automated score. A tool can tell you a page is slow. It cannot tell you that your services page never says the name of the town you work in, or that your form asks a patient for information you should not be collecting in a web form at all. Those take a person looking.
Who this is not for
If you do not have a site yet, there is nothing to audit, and the web design page is the right starting point. If you already know your site needs rebuilding and you have decided, skip the audit and go straight to the redesign. And if you want a document to justify a decision you have already made, I am the wrong person, because the report says what I find. These seven signs help you decide whether it is worth it, and this guide lists exactly what gets checked.
If you decide to work with me afterward
The audit fee is credited toward the project. In other words, if the report leads you to have me rebuild the site, the audit ends up free.
Worth being plain about what that work is. I build new sites and I rebuild existing ones from scratch, keeping your content, your photos and your branding. I do not go into your current WordPress, Wix or Squarespace and patch it from the inside, because the speed, accessibility and search results I promise are built into a site rather than applied to one afterward. So if the report finds three small changes and nothing more, that report is yours to hand to whoever maintains the site today, and you owe me nothing further. If it finds that the site cannot get where you want it from where it is, the rebuild is quoted the way any project here is quoted, starting at $1,497, one time, with the scope, the price and the timeline in writing before anything begins. The new site then continues with a monthly plan starting at $99 a month, covering the changes agreed for your plan, updates, security, uptime monitoring, hosting and SSL, domain management, and ongoing SEO monitoring and optimization, so the problems the report found do not quietly come back.
Common questions
How much does a website audit cost?
From $197, one payment, and the fee is credited in full if you then hire me to rebuild the site around what I found. You pay when you send the request, with a secure Stripe payment link that appears right after the form. That is the whole price: there is no retainer attached and no obligation to buy anything afterward.
How long does the audit take?
Five business days from the moment we confirm scope and payment, plus one business day for me to reply to your request and confirm the details. At the end you get the written report and a 30 minute call to go through it together and ask whatever you want.
What happens after I get the report, and do I have to hire you?
Nothing is obligatory. The report is written so it is usable by whoever you hand it to, including your current developer or nobody at all. If you do decide to have me do the work, that work is a rebuild rather than repairs inside the platform you have now, the audit fee comes off the project, and the new site continues on a monthly plan starting at $99 a month that is cancellable anytime with no fee and always leaves the domain registered to you.
Can I get the report in Spanish?
Yes. The report and the 30 minute call are in English or Spanish, whichever you prefer, and you can pick one for the document and the other for the call if that suits your team. I write each version properly rather than running one through a translator.
